Get To The Point

Had an enjoyable chat with a pal of mine that “creates new space” for retailers where we joked about how one main project manager would frequently interrupt people and bark:

“True, False or Don’t Know?”

If waffling ensued (and it invariably does apparently) he’d merely repeat his order.

It made me recall the several conversations I’d been party to where sales manager and salesperson have diverging opinions.  Either the arrogance of authority or the keenness to overcome true obstacles leads to all sorts of similar statements:

  • Talk only in bullets…
  • In just one sentence…
  • Why isn’t it already done?
  • What happens next?

Despite how irritating it can be to wind up on the receiving end of such treatment, the urge to get to the point is often valid.
