Silly-season surfing dropped me off at a sales-orientated site where one recent article listed twelve quotes that the author liked to use in sales situations. They focus on things to say when needing to manage and motivate salespeople.
I wonder if it was deliberate that the list starts off with glib pop-quotes, that would make a hardened pro click elsewhere, before revealing more tasty meat later?
In any case, I expect you’ll find, like I did, one morsel that you could apply in your very next conversation.
(Mine was the Darwin quote, recited to a person trying to re-invigorate sales for a stalled new product, so they could consider what different on-going management and support was necessary to ensure continued, sustainable success – “It’s not the strongest of the species that will survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change” – which I used in conjunction with a Chandler quote I also like.)
