Iterate The Process
"almost everything impressive is accumulated revision disguised as talent"
A postscript to the recent reminder sparked by the same guy.
In case it wasn't quite explicit enough last time, your winning sales process that elevates you to superstar performance long-term is not static.
And yes, an element or multiple aspects of the well-known methodologies can be components of it. But not the end of it.
My entire career I've banged the drum for that pattern of events that when in train, guarantee we prevail.
Not just that one time once off hit. But over and over.
In a way that is genuine win-win.
It is not only unique to us, but also distinguishes ourselves way above any 'competition'.
Even if you're in start-up, alpha mode searching for that big bang initial breakthrough, you still have something to work with. For if you begin with 'rubbish', knowing to get anything out there means 'perfect is the enemy of good' will most definitely not be your epitaph, the ability to 'edit' will inpsire.
I feel compelled to bring up the aside of the famous cliche; insanity is keep doing the same thing and expect different results. And its corollary of 'pounding the rock'.
The former being the cognitive trap of stubbornly refusing to learn. The latter patiently awaits the cumulative effect of your persistent repeated efforts to shine.
Don't let either sidetrack you.
They are not what we're after.
We use what happens as stepping stones. Not as something that will one day magically make hay or not
We build on what works.
Proven progress provides productive platforms.
Yet fixing what doesn't quite so. We also seek to solve how to overcome certain sticklers. Modifying for what can be made even better.
The top performers know why they succeed and are in thrall to refining so.
I iterate, therefore I sell.
Which could equally be rendered;
I iterate, therefore more and more buy from me.
It is this very conscious act of testing, tweaking and re-building, re-modelling that sets us apart. I trust you too are on such journey.
