In numbers, this is inside a 60-storey skyscraper. For around 10,000 people. Costing $3bn.
It's fair to say that the opening ceremony press seemed devoid of such vistas as above.
What does the disconnect between the lavish environs trumpeted and this working floor say?
If you scan that snap, there's possibly 180 workstations in and around that frame. With who knows how many more stage left and right and beyond.
This could be a stand alone message on salesroom culture. How not to do it. We've surely seen on-screen Hollywood boiler rooms depiction. Always disastrous places.
From the little things, like no wall real estate, to the structural, such as the cacophonous result, how is this conducive to work of requisite calibre, continuous improvement or even worldclass selling?
It isn't.
These guys have no doubt legions of bleeding edge, competition outpacing, elite cultivating 'experts' leading the charge. And this is their answer. What am I missing?
You don't need to be lost to the warm and fuzzy, participation medal, feelings-first, nonsense to know there are two extremes on the required scale. There's a huge tropical zone between these two chilliest of poles. Please ensure you sit within it.
