Zelensky's Trump Tactic

Davos. Yep. Insert own adjective for that annual WEF talking shop.

It turns out America won't invade Iceland. Europe will raise military spending. And the penumbra of evil, criminal oppressors is never far away.

On this latter point, Ukraine President Zelensky spoke about the status of the invasion his nascent democracy faces. Did I hear that right? Russian field losses are claimed at a staggering 35,000 a month. Insane.

As it appears a truce presently hinges on just one point (perhaps), he explained dialogue was not simple. No, not with the jackbooting Putin, but Leader of the Free World, Trump.

So he disclosed a tactic of choice.

"As everyone remembers your last words..."

With Trump's case, he leaves their conversations imploring him to not forget about his own country's defence.

He somewhat diluted that in his following example, citing a need for powerful and as yet unavailable to his forces Patriot missiles.

Yet here's a classic steer.

Partially a primacy-recency effect in the flesh. But really all about knowing your key message and hitting it home as proceedings end.

In this instance, it leans into a WIIFM (what's in it for me) appeal. With a dash of avoiding doom. Then coupled with a way of providing such comfort.

It's also an interesting exercise to note what the final parting words on a sales call are.

For when deliberately articulated as such, they can be powerful. Getting remembered. As well as purposely 'minuted' back to your prospect in your post call documentation.

Think of options ahead of time and you'll be of worth every bit as good as any on a Winter's Swiss shindig stage.
