Optimum Olympic Gold Medal Speaking Balance

I’ve attended many a presentation from an “inspirational” speaker.

Thankfully, there’s usually a worthy takeaway.

A recent one happily produced two.

A Barcelona Gold Medal rower when 20 years young who returned for a London Bronze aged 40. Remarkable.

After his standard hour pitch, he later said a few words in an informal bar setting.

They appeared to have little to do with his earlier story. Yet they are relevant to any public speech. Sales presentations included.

Greg Searle cited the pivotal balance that any speaker must maintain to succeed when storytelling;

presence and coherence versus humility and authenticity.

Veer too much on one side alone, and you are scuppered.

A cracking tip.
