Proportionality Re-Education

There can come a time on a bid when a buyer in distress does not see so. Specifically, when they see only total numbers.

Even in the wider population beyond buyers, when it comes to economic figures blank faces often follow those showing differences between total GDP and GDP per capita.

A big picture amount may well hide the devil in the detail. And that horned red little monster can be scuppering their real ambitions.

In our realm, there can be greater appreciation of this nuance. As cost-per-unit framing for instance is a staple. Yet some will merrily overlook such angle as it can also minimise issues. Atomisation can be good, unless it misleadingly deflects from severity.

So here's an example you might like to gently regale when you sense a prospect is simply not getting that the proportional impact needs urgent attention. It hails, I think, from the deadpan satirical character, Philomena Cunk.

'Stats show 40% of road deaths are caused by drunk drivers.
Yet 60% of road deaths are caused by sober drivers.
So remember that means we are safer getting in a car with a drunk driver.'
