Are You Traffic Light-ing Your Progress Docs?
Here’s a document from a project management style approach to a progress report.
I’ve redacted the text for obvious reasons.
The point is simple. Each line is an action. And at its right, is the colour it is deemed.
A classic traffic light approach, signalling the bad from good. Red, Amber, Green.
This can be great for internal discussion on a deal. Especially in one of those often thorny formal bid review sessions.
Points can be related to all manner of relevant assessment; progress, acceptance or suitability (‘fit’).
With care, it can also be unleashed in front of the prospect. Done properly, you could even get them to fill in the colours for you.
